Nursing Grand Rounds
New Island Nurses Start "Grand Rounds" to Enhance Patient Care The purpose of Grand Rounds is to present new clinical and scientific information; new protocols and procedures for patients, enhance knowledge with direct improvement in patient care and provide continuing medical education for nurses. This has a long tradition in the field of medicine for physicians, and now at New Island provides nurses with updated information and cutting edge techniques to improve patient care on a continuing basis. New Island Hospital began Nursing Grand Rounds on February 25, 2009 with a lecture on Hypoatremia, an electrolyte imbalance in the body by Kenneth Rubin, MD a Cardiologist on staff at the Hospital. Attending this first lecture was Aaron E. Glatt. MD, President and CEO of the Hospital and Margaret Minnick V.P. of Nursing.
