New Island Hospital's Sunshine Ball Breaks All Records

New Island Hospital held it's 8th Annual Sunshine Ball in the Grand Ballroom at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Saturday, February 9, 2008 with a record-breaking attendance of almost 500 people. The evening began with a cocktail hour, beautiful raffle baskets, silent auction, jewelry sales and sports memorabilia, and moved to the grand ballroom for dinner, dancing and presentations to the honorees.

The hospital honored Brian Kilmeade, Co-Host of "Fox & Friends," and anchor of Fox Sports News, with their Community Leadership Award, for his achievements & contributions that continue to benefit our community.

Physician honorees were Stanley Rabinowitz, MD, Director of the Department of Medicine and member of the Medical Board, for his dedication and excellence in the field of pulmonary medicine and critical care and his passion for medical ethics and Edward Gross, MD, Director of Anesthesiology, and member of the Medical Board, for his devotion to the highest standards in perioperative care and his exceptional support of New Island Hospital. The presentation speeches given to all three honorees sincerely expressed genuine feelings of profound appreciation, and fortified the high esteem that each is held in, by all of the guests attending the gala. Proceeds from this event will purchase life saving critical technology for the hospital.
