New Island Employee Thanks Staff

I would like to thank the staff of New Island Hospital for doing such a wonderful job. My daughter Vanessa is nine years old and had surgery at New Island Hospital on June 12, 2007. Everyone whom she came in contact with was so pleasant and professional. It made a potentially frightening experience far more comfortable than I could have imagined.

I would like to recognize people who went out of their way to make Vanessa feel so good. They are Helen Kennedy, Miss Lynn, Cathy Fredericks, Rose Zubco, Marge Alleva, Sandy Sinclaire, Beverly Lacey, Camille Ross, and Jeanne Weggner.

The interesting thing is, I have the pleasure of working with these people as I am employed as a COC nurse at New Island Hospital. I can honestly say they treated me no differently that they do all patients they care for. I have witnessed the professionalism, kindness and tender loving care they give to all their patients and I was proud to show my daughter that I was part of this wonderful team.

This letter comes to you so late as we had a death in my family. My grandmother, Rita Letz passed away on July 5, 2007. She was also a patient at New Island Hospital. So many people took such wonderful care of her; I can't remember them all by name. Mike, Owen, Carol Martin, and Veronica were just a few in CCU; there was Heather on B Unit and Jessica, Eileen, Alma, Debbie and Barbara on M Unit or Hospice, and all the Telemetry staff. Dr. Singh was very compassionate as well as informative and knowledgeable.

My entire family came from all over to see my grandmother at New Island Hospital and all I heard was compliments on the level of care, kindness of all employees (security and housekeeping included) and the cleanliness of the facility. I was once again proud to be a part of this organization.
